CORPUS CHRISTI — Four suspected illegal immigrants were taken to area hospitals for illnesses releated to dehydration after U.S. Border Patrol agents Monday found them in a Falfurrias field, said Border Patrol spokesman John Lopez.

Lopez said agents found three men and one woman, all of El Salvador, in the brush north of the Falfurrias Border Patrol checkpoint. The agents called for medical assistance for BorStar, a Border Patrol search and rescue unit. Emergency medical services were also called, he said.

A man was airlifted by HALO Flight to Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial in Corpus Christi. He remained there as of Monday evening, Lopez said.

The other three were treated and released Monday from Christus Spohn Hospital Alice. The three were in the process of deportation Tuesday, Lopez said.
