Border Patrol agent forced to open fire on a suspected smuggler tries to run him down

South Of Donna - Border Patrol agents are trying to determine if a suspected smuggler was wounded after one agent opened fire in self defense.

The incident happened Monday afternoon, near Runn along the Rio Grande.

A Customs and Border Protection spokesperson tells NEWSCHANNEL 5, agents spotted a smuggler loading several people inside a Chevrolet Suburban.

When agents walked towards the vehicle, the suspected smuggler tried to run them over.

One agent fired one shot at the vehicle.

The suspected smuggler jumped out of the vehicle and swam across the Rio Grande River to Mexico.

Thirteen illegal immigrants were taken into custody.

Is't this about the 6th such incident since the death of Agent Luis Aguilar
when he was struck by the Hummer January 19, 2008?

I think the driver should be charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon in such incidents.

I believe all Suburbans, vans, SUV's, buses, trailers, and trucks should not be allowed to enter the U.S. from Mexico.

Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country.

Johnny Sutton will not let that charge happen.
hes probably licking his lips over the fact he gets to charge another BP agent and put him in jail
