CBP officers seize $864k in cocaine at B&M Bridge

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the B&M International Bridge discovered $864,000 in cocaine in a Ford Explorer, leading to the arrest of a 27-year-old man from Matamoros Tuesday.

CBP officers noted discrepancies in the interior of the sports utility vehicle. A K-9 unit also alerted officers to the odor of narcotics emanating from the vehicle, according to authorities.

An inspection yielded 13 bundles containing nearly 27 pounds of cocaine hidden behind the rear seat, according to authorities.

The suspect was turned over to the custody of U.S. news/" class="autolink">Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agents, who investigated the seizure and processed the driver on federal drug charges.
