The last time I heard a number it was 7 out of the last 11 Phoenix Police officers shot were by illegals. I had to stop listening because I couldn't understand how mayor Phil Gordon and police chief Harris could defend their sanctuary city policies.

Given how many times I have been physically threatened by Hispanics, I think these people must be getting threatened. Hard to find men like Sheriff Joe that have the guts to actually enforce our laws. It would really be nice if we had an administration that would enforce our laws.

Unfortunately, all they are doing is making the whole country into a bunch of gun-toting enforcers for them. I'm an old white woman and for the first time in my life I am researching guns and training.

P.S. I live in an Hispanic neighborhood. I SEE what they are doing.

    Murder Suspects' Crimes Revealed
    By Stephen Dean

    POSTED: Thursday, June 25, 2009

HOUSTON -- Immigration officials admitted on Thursday that an "old system" of tracking illegal immigrants who commit crimes allowed one suspect to remain in the United States for nearly two decades before Tuesday's fatal shooting of a Houston Police officer, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Senior HPD Officer Henry Canales, 42, was killed Tuesday at about 9 p.m. during an undercover sting aimed at groups that buy stolen merchandise.

The man who police said killed him was shot and killed by Canales and another officer.

Two adults and a teenage girl are jailed on capital murder charges, accused of taking part in the robbery that ended in Canales' murder.

Harris County District Attorney Pat Lycos told an afternoon news briefing that it is premature for her to decide whether to seek death on the two adults.

HPD Homicide Squad Capt. Steve Jett said the gunman was shot by the officer once through the chest in what could have been a fatal wound. Then, after the officer collapsed, the second officer struggled to detain the shooter, and then shot him through the back as he raised the gun back over his shoulder.

Jett stressed that the second officer didn't even realize the gunman was still armed as he struggled, but then shot the gunman in the back as he turned the gun toward the officer behind him.

HPD leaders and Lycos emphasized that the undercover operation was aimed at keeping the streets safe, only targeting large groups of people organized for buying stolen goods. HPD said the group in this week's fatal shootout brought the money and was ready to buy a truckload of stolen televisions.

Lycos said that if there is no market for stolen goods, "we're all safer."

Jett said surveillance of the undercover TV buy showed only 42 seconds between the time police were negotiating the deal and the gunman turning to rob the officers of the TVs, the truck, and their money. Jett said the officer never had time to identify himself as an officer.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement leaders told the afternoon briefing that it has identified nearly 14,000 illegal immigrants subject to deportation in Houston this year through the 287(b) program. That is the search of jails and other databases that the city just started taking part in after an illegal immigrant shot and wounded narcotics squad officer Rick Salter in March.

ICE officials said their old computer system prevented them from throwing one career criminal out of the country after many arrests over the past two decades.

Andres Nava-Maldonado had eight aliases, according to HPD and several arrests dating back to 1990 in California.

He is one of the people arrested leaving the scene.

HPD said Maldonado was never in trouble here, but in California he was arrested for attempted murder in 1990, a charge that was reduced down for some reason. He was charged in June 1990 with being under the influence of drugs, and then October 1990 for robbery, a charge that was dismissed for lack of probable cause.

He was charged in February 1991 with assault and given 30 months probation, in November 1990 charged with false identity given to police officer, for which he served 10 days in jail and three years probation. Hour was charged in October 1991 with grand theft and assault and then in 1992 charged with exhibiting firearm.

Despite all those arrests, ICE leaders maintained he was not deported because their old system did not catch it. Agent-in-charge Robert Rutt said a new system now in place would catch such a thing.

The second adult suspect, illegal immigrant Xiomara Mendez-Rosales, 36, had two prior arrests from HPD in 2006 for domestic violence assault. Both of those cases were dismissed.
Jett said a deportation order had been placed against her then, but HPD would have no way of knowing about that because only criminal cases come up on suspect name searches.

Deportation is a civil process, he said, so HPD had no idea she was supposed to be deported when officers originally arrested her.

The dead gunman, Roberto Pedroza Carillo, 37, had three aliases, but HPD said no arrests were found on his record.

Houston Police Chief Harold Hurrt told KPRC Local 2 he is not planning any changes to undercover protocols or proactive stings based on this shooting.

HEAVY FINES and FELONY JAIL time for the ILLEGAL EMPLOYERS! Remember the ILLEGAL EMPLOYER from Houston, "his" ILLEGAL EMPLOYEE murdered a Houston Police Officer Rodney Johnson by empting a loaded handgun into the Police Officer's back because he was afraid to be DEPORTED AGAIN!

This is the Third HPD officer killed by an illegal alien.

    Dixie
Just saw on the news (Fox 26) that police chief Harold Hurtt says this officer’s death will not change the department’s policy on NOT questioning arrested suspects on their immigration status.

Bottom line…..'Sanctuary City' Policies will STAY IN PLACE in the city of Houston which means the criminaliens will continue to run free on the streets committing lord knows what other crimes other than already being here illegally!!

The gunman who shot and killed an undercover police officer during a Tuesday night sting operation was an illegal immigrant who had been picked up by the U.S. Border Patrol in El Paso and allowed to return home to Mexico 10 years ago.

Municipal records also show that Roberto Pedroza Carrillo, 37, had been stopped and ticketed by the Houston Police Department at least four times since 2002, most recently last November. In 2002, a warrant was issued for Carrillo after he failed to appear in court on a speeding ticket, but the case was resolved when he paid the fine.

But because he never was arrested and fingerprinted in Houston, there was no way for ticketing officers to know he was here illegally.

Carrillo was killed in a gunfight Tuesday night seconds after he paid thousands of dollars to undercover officer Henry Canales, who was posing as a thief selling stolen televisions.

Police say Carrillo paid Canales $6,500 for $30,000 worth of merchandise stacked in a rented truck in a Walgreen’s parking lot in southwest Houston, then pulled a gun and demanded the return of the money as well as the keys to the truck.

Police say Canales, 42 and a 16-year veteran of the job, was shot in the back, but was able to fire a fatal shot into Carrillo’s chest during the botched robbery attempt. A second undercover officer, Ruben Lopez, rushed over to secure the wounded Carrillo, who fired several shots at the officer before Lopez shot him once in the back.

Three of Carrillo’s associates fled the shooting scene on Hillcroft near Bellaire in a van, but quickly were stopped by officers backing up the undercover operation. A 16-year-old girl, who was in the van, is in juvenile custody. All three are illegal immigrants, authorities said.

Municipal court records for a Roberto Carrillo, with the same address and date of birth released by investigators, show several traffic tickets from late 2002 to November of 2008. Several of the charges were dismissed after he provided proof of insurance and registration, and after HPD officers failed to appear in court. Records show Carrillo died owing the city $195 for a speeding ticket.

Under HPD policy, officers are not allowed to inquire about citizenship status during routine traffic stops. Suspects without valid identification can be fingerprinted, even for minor offenses. Carrillo, however, had several forms of ID, including at least two Texas driver’s licenses.
    Suspects used aliases
After undercover HPD officer Rick Salter was shot by an illegal immigrant in March, Mayor Bill White and Police Chief Harold Hurtt agreed to seek federal funds so city jailers could train to assist immigration agents and access immigration databases.

Authorities said Thursday that Carrillo and the three who accompanied him to the undercover sting had used false names in the past, complicating efforts by police to investigate the case.

Capital murder charges have been filed against Andres Maldonado Nava, 41, of Mexico, and Xiomara Mendez Rosales, 36, of Honduras.

According to Ken LandÂ*grebe, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement official, Maldonado had used eight false identities between 1985 and 1992, and was arrested in California between 1990 and 1992 for attempted murder, robbery, being under the influence of drugs, grand theft, assault and exhibiting a firearm. Mendez, authorites said, was arrested in Houston on charges of assault of a family member in 2006, but the charges were dismissed.

    Capital charges possible
Lt. Scott Dombrowski, of HPD’s auto theft division, said the undercover operation Tuesday “went horribly wrongâ€

He contends gunman who killed officer simply asked for a ride

An illegal immigrant charged with capital murder in the death of undercover Houston police officer Henry Canales said he drove the gunman to a buy televisions but said he had no idea his friend was armed or that the merchandise was stolen.

Andres Nava Maldonado, 41, speaking in a visitor’s cell in the Harris County Jail, said longtime friend Roberto Pedroza Carrillo asked him for a ride Tuesday evening to the parking lot of a Walgreen’s to buy merchandise. In return for the favor, Nava said, Carrillo gave him $30 for gas money.

“It was a favor to my buddy, a favor to give him a ride with some of his acquaintances to make a purchase,â€

Police issued a search warrant at the home of a gunman who fatally shot an Houston police officer last week before being gunned down during an undercover sting, authorities said Saturday.

According to KHOU, officers discovered a large amount of stole merchandise — including refrigerators, washers and barbecues — at the northwest Harris County home of Roberto Pedroza Carrillo.

The 37-year-old shot and killed Houston Police Officer Henry Canales in the parking lot of a Walgreens drugstore at Hillcroft and Bellaire Tuesday night. He was then shot and killed by another officer.

Authorities searched the home Friday night, said Houston Police Department spokeswoman Jodi Silva, adding that the search was part of the ongoing investigation and declined to give further details.

Canales was part of an undercover team investigating stolen televisions. Money was exchanged with undercover officers when Carrillo shot Canales, authorities said.

Another officer tried to take the gunman into custody when Carrillo fired at him. The second officer, who was not hit, then shot Carrillo, who died at the scene.

Andres Nava Maldonado, 41, of Mexico, and Xiomara Mendez Rosales, 36, of Honduras, who were with Carrillo at the time of the shooting, allegedly fled the scene. They were later arrested and charged with capital murder, authorities said.

A juvenile female was also arrested.
No further information was immediately available.

    KHOU contributed to this report.
