The League of United Latin American Citizens said they were going to fight for their agenda in the state legislature, but they don’t expect to win.

LULAC had a news conference Thursday in Odessa to announce their goals and agenda for the 82nd Texas Legislative session that starts on Tuesday. Speaking at the news conference, former State Director Angie Garcia rallied members in attendance, telling them go and fight for what the organization believes in.

LULAC’s top legislative issue is education. Their agenda calls for more effective programs and greater accountability for secondary students whose first language in not English. They also called for universal access to education and affordable tuition rates for college students.

Deputy State Director Linda Chavez said the organization opposes any cuts to the education budget and urges the legislature to address teacher shortages and high student-dropout rates.

Also high on their agenda are the issues of health care, immigration and redistricting.

LULAC members want the legislature to ensure affordable health care, fund preventive programs and prevent denial of coverage due to a pre-existing condition.

The organization supports comprehensive immigration reform by pushing for a Texas guest-worker program and the continuation of the Texas Dream Act.

    Translations:
"Their agenda calls for more effective programs"

more money taken away from US citizen children and given to teaching illegal alien anchor babies.

"They also called for universal access to education"

Allow illegal aliens and their anchor babies to get an education at our expense.

"and affordable tuition rates for college students. "

In state tuition for illegal aliens.

I was born in Los Angeles, CA. I lived there the first 25 years of my life. If I went back there and went to college, I would get charged out of state tuition, yet an illegal alien gets 1-to go to college in the first place, 2- instate tuition. B.S!

LULAC was demanding the advancement for Latino youth in California last month. We are suppose to put the Latino youth ahead of every other child in America. What a bunch of kleptoparasites.

I DON'T THINK SO ITS HIGH TIME THAT THESE LATION GROUPS GET THE MESSAGE THAT THEIR OFFSPRING ARE NOT THE BE ALL AND END ALL. THEY DO NOT DESERVE ANY SPECIAL TREATMENT OVER ANY OTHER KIDS WHO WANT A COLLEGE EDUCATION. AND FURTHER MORE, THERE IS NO WAY THAT THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE DEMANDS ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND EXPECT US TO CAVE IN TO THOSE DEMANDS. I HAVE FIVE GRAND KIDS AND, WHEN IT COMES TO THEM AND ILLEGAL ANCHOR BABIES GETTING A COLLEGE EDUCATION, MINE COME FIRST EVERY TIME AND SO DO THE KIDS AND GRAND KIDS OF EVERY CITIZEN AND LEGAL CITIZEN OF THIS COUNTRY THEY CLAIM TO BE OUT FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN THE COUNTRY ILLEGALLY WHEN THEY ARE ONLY LOOKING OUT FOR THOSE OF HISPANIC ORIGIN. WELL, AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED THEY CAN ALL GO TO H*!! AND DON'T COME BACK I'M SICK OF THESE PEOPLE DEMANDING WHAT THEY ARE NOT ENTITLED TO IN THE FIRST PLACE. GO HOME AND DEMAND THESE THINGS OF YOUR HOME COUNTRY AND NOT HERE BECAUSE WE OWE YOU NOTHING. I AM THE GREAT GREAT GRAND DAUGHTER OF SLAVES BUT, I DON'T FEEL THAT THIS COUNTRY OWE ME A FREE COLLEGE EDUCATION BECAUSE OF IT. AND THE U.S. IN NO WAY OWE ILLEGAL ANCHOR BABIES ONE EITHER. THESE PEOPLE CAME HERE UNINVITED AND THEN THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO DEMAND, DEMAND AND DEMAND FOR THIS AND A LOT OF THAT. ONE THING ABOUT IT, WHEN WE WERE MARCHING IN THE STREETS OF AMERICA, WE WERE NOT DEMANDING THAT THE U.S. PAY FOR A COLLEGE EDUCATION FOR US OR ANY OF THE OTHER THINGS THAT THE ILLEGALS ARE DEMANDING FROM THIS COUNTRY.
