A man and woman remain jailed in Fort Bend County after being indicted on murder charges in the April 20 shooting death of a security guard.

Cesar Soto-Castro, 22, of Houston, was indicted this week by a grand jury in Richmond. He also faces a felony theft charge.

Anabel Hernandez, 19, of Houston, was indicted May 23 by the same grand jury for murder and theft in the slaying of Fidel Sanchez, 26, of Houston, who was shot at J.D. Abrams, a construction site in the 8400 block of FM 2234 in an unincorporated area of the county near Fresno.

Sanchez had responded to an emergency alarm at the site shortly after midnight when he was shot multiple times. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, where he died.

Fort Bend County Sheriff's spokesman Bob Haenel said Soto-Castro remains in the Fort Bend County Jail. He is believed to be in the United States illegally and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a hold on him.

Hernandez remains in jail on a $500,000 bail.
