An illegal alien doing your legal work? CA bill will make it so (ALIPAC mentioned)

    Chad Groening (OneNewsNow.com) Monday, September 16, 2013

An immigration enforcement activist says he expects illegal aliens in the state of California will be more empowered thanks to a new law in the state.

The bill that would allow illegal immigrants to become lawyers passed the state Assembly last week in the waning hours of the legislative session. It would authorize the California Supreme Court, which finalizes applications to become licensed as a lawyer in the state, to admit qualified applicants regardless of their immigration status.

The legislation was prompted by the case of an illegal alien from Mexico, Sergio Garcia, who was brought to the United States as a baby and later graduated from a California law school.

William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, says he expects Garcia and others like him will become advocates for illegal aliens.

"Now people are going to get sued by illegal immigrants wearing suits and filing charges against people,” says Gheen. “We expect a lot of civil claims. You'll see a lot of lawsuits against employers and neighbors."

Gheen says it doesn't matter that Garcia was brought to the U.S. by his parents, explaining that is a “standard line” used by illegal immigration supporters.

“Nobody dares to say anything because they'll call you both a racist and a hater of children,” he says.

But Gheen says at least one other state has rejected a similar effort to allow illegal aliens to become lawyers.

"We just fought this battle and won against illegal immigrants in Florida, where they also tried to get an illegal immigrant passed by the bar into practicing law,” he reports.

"This is a nation of laws. It is illogical for an individual to be here illegally to appear in court defending someone when the whole time they themselves are here illegally and can be booted out of the country at any time. This is illogical; it’s not in the client's best interest and it’s surely not in the best interest of a coherent relied-upon judiciary."
