Suspected Smuggler Killed Following Accident

MISSION - Police are investigating after a suspected smuggler is run over and killed by the truck he was driving.

Police say the driver fled the scene of an accident scene in Mission, the victims of that accident flagged down a Border Patrol Agent and described the truck.

Mission Police and Border Patrol Agents went to the area where the truck was last seen, and found it crashed into some brush.

The driver of the truck, was found underneath it, dead.

Fifteen illegals were also found.

Police say the suspected smuggler was killed after he jumped from the moving vehicle in an attempt to get away, and ended up being run over.

Thirteen of the illegals were taken into custody, two others were taken to a Mission hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
