MOUNT HOLLY -- An illegal alien from Trinidad pleaded guilty today to aggravated manslaughter in the stabbing death of her husband in the Hunters Glen Apartments n Delran.


Deputy first assistant Burlington County prosecutor James Ronca said defendant Kesi Cole, 26, is likely to face deportation because immigration and customs enforcement officials have arrest detainers for her.

Cole had been charged with murdering husband Eric Cole, 29, in February during an argument. He was found dead on Feb. 17, 2007, on their kitchen floor in Hunters Glen Apartments, Route 130, Delran.

She entered a guilty plea before Superior Court Judge Thomas Smith Jr. to the lesser offense of aggravated manslaughter. It was part of a plea negotiation with Ronca and carries a 10-year state prison term.

Smith said she would be sentenced Oct. 3 and would have to serve more than eight years of that sentence before parole eligibility.
