U.S. Border Patrol thwarts maritime smuggling attempt

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS 8) - Two Mexican nationals are in custody Tuesday morning after illegally entering the U.S. on a jet ski.

Border Patrol agents spotted the men crossing the International Maritime Boundary Saturday.

The 22-year-old driver is being held on alien smuggling charges. His 34-year-old passenger is awaiting deportation proceedings.
