If it isn’t bad enough already, now our border patrol agents in Arizona are saying that Washington has instituted fuel rationing that is preventing them from patrolling their region properly.
Hidalgo County, Arizona Border Security officials complain that they have been limited to only 10 gallons of gas a day during their ten-hour shift.
ABC affiliate KRGV TV is reporting that fuel rationing is preventing agents from patrolling in their normal fashion.
Some of the smaller border patrol stations, the TV news folks discovered, are experiencing even greater rationing and the 2,400 agents on the Rio Grande Valley are, as well.
Border Patrol has been complaining that it is undermanned but if agency bosses won’t even spring to fully fuel the agency’s vehicles, adding additional officers seems unlikely.
KRGV interviewed Agent Chris Cabrera who is pretty much at a loss.
