U.S. citizen shot and killed in Juárez

Another U.S. citizen has been killed in a shooting in Juárez, a U.S. Consulate official said today.
Victor Hugo Lopez Jr., 21, was fatally shot Monday evening while driving a Ford Taurus with Chihuahua license plates in the Jardines del Bosque area, Chihuahua state police said. Investigators counted 16 bullet casings from an AK-47 assault rifle.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Consulate in Juárez said Lopez was born in El Paso and was buried Wednesday in Juárez.
Lopez is the third U.S. citizen to be slain in less than a week in Juárez.
On Friday, El Pasoans Rosa Williams, 35, and her son Paulo Noe Williams, 19, were killed by gunmen who fired at their sport utility vehicle that they were riding in with two other people, Alberto Nieto Nieto, 24, and Alma Yesenia Flores, 21.
