The driver involved in the crash that killed the director of "A Christmas Story" and his son this year was sentenced today to six years in state prison, officials said.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Hector Guzman sentenced Hector Manuel Velazquez-Nava, 25, of Los Angeles under terms of a plea agreement, Deputy Dist. Atty. Belle Chen said.

Velazquez-Nava pleaded no contest Aug. 29 to two felony counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Hollywood veteran Bob Clark, 67, who directed "A Christmas Story" and "Porky's," and his son Ariel Hanrath-Clark, 22, were killed early April 4 while driving on Pacific Coast Highway.

Minutes after Clark left his Pacific Palisades condo to drive his son home to Santa Monica, their southbound 1997 Infiniti sedan was struck head-on by the northbound 2007 GMC Yukon driven by Velazquez-Nava, police said.

Authorities said Velazquez-Nava, a native of Mexico who was in the U.S. illegally, had a blood-alcohol level of 0.24, three times the legal limit. He suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Before Guzman sentenced Velazquez-Nava, the defendant made a statement through a Spanish interpreter, apologizing to the victims' family.

Nothing surprises me anymore! 6 years for killing an American citizen while driving drunk and illegally! And Ramos and Compeon received 11 years for shooting a drug dealer in the behind! There is no justice for Americans anymore.

This low-life will probably be out in three years and back on the streets!

If he had been a drunk citizen, he would've gotten 20 years (10 for each life). Where's MADD when you need them?
