BROWNSVILLE - Close to $500,000 worth of methamphetamines are off the streets.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Gateway International Bridge in Brownsville discovered the huge load of meth inside a Mercury Villager. The driver of the vehicle was a woman accompanied by her husband and brother-in-law, all Mexican citizens who had been living in Houston.
The 24 packages weighing close to 28 pounds have an estimated street value of just more than $400,000. The suspects and the drugs were all turned over to ICE agents.
