U2's Bono - Refugees Threaten The Very Existence of Europe - USA Watch Out

Bono: Refugees Threaten The ‘Very Existence Of Europe’ [VIDEO]

U2 frontman Bono says that the refugee crisis “places an existential threat on European unity” and the “very existence of Europe.”

In an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Tuesday, Bono warned that the refugee crisis could soon harm America, saying, “I know there’s election fever and I can see why people are getting carried away. But the next president might spend his first term not just putting out fires, but you know forest fires if you don’t get on top of this.”

Bono, who took a trip to the border of Somalia as well as to camps that border Syria, said, “I learned from that trip that a lot of this great work could get undone and furthermore, that it threatens the very existence of Europe. And that’s a big thing to lay on you at breakfast, and I know it’s not on the front page of the news here. But the refugee crisis places an existential threat on European unity.”

“I wish I had better news to report and I think it’s something to get ahead of,” he reported.
Bono also penned an op-ed for the New York Times on Tuesday. Under the headline, “Time to Think Bigger About the Refugee Crisis,” he offered solutions to the ever-growing issue, which he believes is better addressed in the migrants’ homelands — before they are forced to uproot their lives — instead of after the fact in countries where they are ill-prepared to assimilate and succeed.

That’s a message most conservatives can agree with.

Glad to hear Bono is not spitting out the usual socialist drivel on these issues!

It's hard to say what he is really talking about. He could be saying that not letting in refugees is what is threatening Europe. Note that he only specifically talks about "European unity". He is not directly saying that the flood of refugees coming in is what poses the threat. He could be saying that the rejection of the refugees is what the threat is.

And what does this mean? “I learned from that trip that a lot of this great work could get undone and furthermore, that it threatens the very existence of Europe. ..." What is this "great work". And how does "undoing it" threaten the very existence of Europe?

This was a very ambiguous and calculating speech. He could be speaking directly for the interests who are responsible for letting this very dangerous and corrupting flood of people in, trying to sound like those outraged by it to draw sympathy to those interests.

Bono has been a crusader to bring world poverty to the forefront but to me he is clearly revealing that bringing refugees to EU and USA is a mistake as they would be better off staying in their countries with safe zones and other assistance.

This is an announcement from someone very much aware of the peoples lifestyle of which he speaks and therefore says it will ruin the western world to bring them to EU & USA - he is giving a warning that is coming from someone that has been involved in platforms to help 3rd world countries,

it is a powerful statement of recognition that it is a wrong direction to take them in. You should not be ruining other civilizations to accommodate another when you can help them in their home countries rather than displacing.

As he is very much respected for his charity work in 3rd world countries, this statement will reach more ears in that circle.

We need to stop giving aid to all these foreign countries with NO accountability. Any aid given should be agreed upon the conditions that a Team of Professionals go into that country...along with a "Comprehensive Plan for Reform". And that Team stays in that country until major progress is made.

No money into corrupt hands. Part of that reform in these 3rd world countries needs to be mandatory population control. Education and hard work. Financially responsibility...they follow what is in the plan or NO more money. No more oatmeal feeding people who continue to have children they cannot support and it has been going on for decades. This solves nothing! All the billions and billions of dollars for the past 50 years has done nothing...they are no better off. Money does not solve the issues.

No asylum, no refugees, no illegal migrants, no anchor babies from anywhere! Go fix the problem on THEIR soil. Not bring these problems to ours.

I wouldn't be so sure. If he actually said what you say he said, I might believe that.

    But he didn't.

Coming from different perspectives has allowed for personal interpretations....your privilege and mine.

This celebrity has been on a band wagon for helping 3rd world countries & is ADMITTING the "refugee" invasion is big trouble. It certainly will be heard amongst others that are blindly following the invasions which in turn can broaden their perspective.

Yes, but admitting migrants from third world countries is also considered helping them. Everyone can see that the migrant problem is big trouble, but only certain people are talking about walling them off and throwing them out. When Bono starts using more direct language, then I think we posting here at ALIPAC can show more confidence.

Perhaps you could provide more quotes from Bono showing his bona fide.
