UK and France sign new treaty on Calais migrants

The UK and France have signed a new treaty aimed at speeding up the processing of migrants in Calais. French President Emmanuel Macron is currently in the UK on his first visit since becoming leader in May last year.

The Sandhurst Treaty hopes to reduce the time it takes to process migrants crossing the channel down from six months to one month for adults, and 25 days for children. May also offered £44.5 million to ease French grievances over a deal made in 2003 that placed British border controls in Calais. The money will go towards fences, security cameras and other measures in Calais and other ports in England.

The town has become a magnet for migrants hoping to reach Britain, and the accord puts the burden of blocking their entry to the UK on France. Macron said the treaty would mean ‘smarter and more efficient management of the border’ and a faster, more humane processing system for migrants. France also wants Britain to take in more migrants from Calais, especially unaccompanied children. But Theresa May refused to say how many migrants Britain would take when asked at a joint press conference. Instead, she stressed the need to clamp down on people smugglers and take other measures to stop migrants from getting to Calais.

Both leaders met at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in south-west London to pledge closer cooperation on defence, security and borders after Britain leaves the European Union. President Emmanuel Macron also delivered a firm message that the UK cannot keep coveted access to the EU for its financial sector after Brexit, unless it plays by the rules once it leaves

‘If you want access to the single market, including the financial services, be my guest,’ he said. ‘But it means that you need to contribute to the budget and acknowledge European jurisdiction.’ Macron also came with the news that France will loan Britain the Bayeux Tapestry, an 11th-century panorama depicting the Norman conquest of England to go on display at an unspecified British venue in 2022.

They need to process them all for deportation!

This must stop on all our borders...it solves nothing but adds more crime and financial collapse of our countries.
ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM

DO NOT REWARD THEM - DEPORT THEM ALL
