MEDIA COURTHOUSE — An Upper Darby man pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated indecent assault of a child for molesting a 9-year-old girl in 2011.

Lester Dionisio, 30, of the Drexel Hill section of the township, was arrested in November after Upper Darby police received a tip from Delaware County Children and Youth Services concerning the now 11-year-old victim.

Dionisio, a citizen of Honduras, is the son of a family friend and was living in the victim’s home in 2011, according to an affidavit of probable cause. The victim told investigators he had grabbed the girl inside the house late one evening and began kissing her on the lips, then took her to a couch where he touched her breasts and genitals.

Dionisio was startled by the girl’s mother approaching and pushed the girl away, according to police. The victim’s parents suspected something was wrong and took her to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where CYS became involved.

Dionisio has since been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for allegedly re-entering the country after being removed for his criminal record.

Judge James Nilon informed Dionisio through an interpreter that a guilty plea or conviction would result in deportation. Dionisio said he understood.

Under the plea worked out by Assistant District Attorney Alan Borowsky and defense attorney Edwin Rivera, Dionisio would serve four and a half to nine years in a state correctional facility and 10 years of state probation. He would also have to register as a sex offender for life under Megan’s Law and comply with recommendations of a psychosexual evaluation.

Nilon set sentencing for June 16 pending that evaluation and an assessment by the state Sexual Offenders Assessment Board to determine if Dionisio is a sexually violent predator.
