Senate Bill 35, sponsored by Sen. Jimmy Stewart, a Republican from Albany, would direct the attorney general to pursue an agreement with the U.S. Attorney General’s Office to provide jurisdiction to local officers. The move is allowed under federal legislation enacted more than a decade ago.

So, Dixie, do you know....if officers are allowed to pick them up, would this include Oberlin, OH, who just declared itself a sanctuary city, or would local cops there still have their hands tied? The final resolution did say they wouldn't ask cops in Oberlin to not arrest them, but I'm sure if they want to keep their jobs it's understood they'll do what the council tells them to behind closed doors.
