Utah Senator Orrin Hatch Introduces His Own Immigration Bill

(Washington, DC) - Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) has rolled out a robust bill aimed at addressing several of their key concerns about illegal immigration that is plaguing the Beehive State and other states across the nation.

Hatch’s bill, Strengthening Our Commitment to Legal Immigration and America’s Security Act, would require participation in key law enforcement programs, clamp down on identify theft, streamline our visa system, track the amount of welfare benefits being diverted to illegal immigrant households, curb serious abuses of our immigration laws and help prevent Mexican cartels from using our national parks and federal lands to grow marijuana and other illegal drugs.â€

I'm pleased that ANYBODY is addressing the issue of Mexican Cartels growing weed plantations on public lands, but they've gone to private land as well...no help for PRIVATE land owners.

Hatch is trying to save his butt and not wind up like his amnesty loving sell out congressmen that are getting voted out. He's always been an open border pusher.

Senator Hatch has done little to speak out against illegal immigration. He has no action on the Birthright Citizenship issue, and he has a "C" grade on NumbersUSA for addressing illegal immigration at the borders.

Enforcing our current immigration laws, allowing, or demanding that the IRS and Social Security Administration share information about possible discrepancies, informing Americans that there numbers may have been stolen, would help to identify illegal aliens and stolen social security numbers. E Verify, 287g, and Secure Communities are good additions on a national scale.

Politicians who try to make it easier for more people to come here more quickly and who want more foreign labor, are working against us too. As I understand, we currently allow up to 3 million people a year, under different programs, entry into the United States. NumbersUSA teaches us that this hyper-immigration has hurt us tremendously and will continue to do so in the future. Maybe Senator Hatch should be told this fact, and sent the "Gumball" video of Roy Beck, which clearly illustrates the problem.

He has a total grade of "B", with some A's also. View the page at NumbersUSA for the breakdown. I just think it begins at the border - shut the door. Then let people knock, identify themselves, screen them, etc. and decide if they will benefit the United States. As Senator Sessions says, what merit do they have, what would they contribute to the United States. Should we have people come here who will not assimilate, who will not be a benefit, who will not support themselves, who will be a welfare burden?

    how about this.

NO Foreign Government will be allowed to Lobby any US government official in order to obtain favorable status for people of said country who are illegally here.

(translation: mexico not being able to tell us there people get to stay here and deserve citizenship)
