Proposed bill allows workers to sue if replaced by illegal aliens
By Rob Richardson, NBC12 News
At the General Assembly today, a bill was proposed that would let fired workers sue if they were replaced by illegal aliens. The legislation is the result of complaints from some home builders in Henrico County. According to Delegate Jack Reid, some construction workers are being fired and replaced for cheaper labor by workers in the country illegally.
Home building in Henrico and other areas of the metro Richmond area is big business, and in Short Pump, it's been booming.
Some builders are complaining because they feel they’re being pushed and shoved aside to make room for cheaper labor and Delegate Reid wants to do something about it. Reid takes a diplomatic approach. In one of several bills he's proposed, he plans to focus on illegal aliens and help workers sue their boss if they're fired and replaced by a worker here illegally. During a floor debate, Henrico Delegate Donald McEachin thought the scope of the bill was too broad.
Ultimately, Reid agreed to amend his bill and says the federal government is in part to blame for not taking responsibility for illegal immigration. Some of Delegate Reid's other legislation makes it illegal to knowingly house an illegal alien and makes it illegal for aliens to get in-state college tuition.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

This is a good thing, but its too bad we have to have laws to entitle us to suing over something like this when it should be common sense.
So, I guess there's a good Reid and a bad Reid!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
