I can't believe Sen. Lautenburg and Sen. Menendez voted for our side!!!

    I still don't trust them.

I received this from CAPS today. I'll be calling tomorrow!

Alert! Thank Senator Dorgan for stopping the Mexican truck pilot program!
Good news! The U.S. Senate voted 74-24 for an amendment by Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND) to eliminate funds for the Administration's pilot program that would have allowed Mexican trucks to haul freight throughout the United States.

Since the amendment contains identical language to that already included in the House-passed version of the funding bill, this provision will likely survive the House-Senate conference committee, thus stopping this program.

The Mexican trucks would endanger American motorists and pedestrians with their lower safety standards and drivers who cannot read English signs. They would facilitate the smuggling of drugs, terrorists, and illegal aliens. They would threaten American jobs.

Please call Sen. Dorgan at one of his offices below to express your appreciation! Ask him to continue to protect American security by working to stop illegal immigration.
