Exactly!! The so-called "Statistics" reflecting US poverty rates are skewed because we continue to "import Poverty." Listening to one of the Judiciary Committee hearing (VAWA I believe) someone remarked that the US had slipped way down the ranks in infant mortality (mortality was rising). Of course WE know why, but these people are totally clueless. So then they want to craft another government program to "combat" the problem. California here we come---over the cliff into insolvency.
Yes, I've been aware that the US Census counts foreigners, immigrants and illegal aliens in their statistics of our population.
So, almost 25% of our uninsured problem is really an immigration problem. So we need to crack down on illegal immigration and get those who aren't supposed to be here out of here and then crack down on immigration and get those who are here in work visas but who have no work and not renew their visa so they will go back home.
I think reducing that portion of our uninsured problem would be more than enough to make our uninsured problem go away.
The uninsured consist of a wide variety of folks, not all of whom can't afford it. Some people just don't want to pay for health insurance. That is their right. These are young people who feel they're young and don't need it, right or wrong, their choice; well to do people who can pay for their medical procedures themselves; and lower to middle income folks who would like to have it but aren't willing to sue their own money to buy the policies, they'd rather spend their money on something else and try to figure out a way for someone else to pay for it for them.
If we go to the root of our problems instead of playing with the symptoms, we can solve all these problems almost overnight.
1. stop illegal immigration which among other things reduces the number of uninsureds free-loading off of our medical system
2. pass the FairTax which among other things increases the next expendable income of most Americans by 40% so they can afford a nice basic health insurance policy www.fairtax.org
3. protect our trade which among other things reduces unemployment and underemployment by bringing our good jobs back and stops the deflation of wages and salaries of our citizens http://www.paa-tx.org/node/1395

This could not have been put more concisely.
He probably thinks like Harry Reid, that they are "undocumented American Citizens".

That is the official term Canada uses for illegal aliens, I think it is better than "immigrants" and "undocumented". "Unauthorized foreigners" would be better still.Quote:

I will go one further, If a legal resident is here on a work visa the employer should be required to pay for his/her health insurance NOT the taxpayer!
