W.V. - Federal Grand Jury Returns 5 Indictments

Six people were named in five indictments returned by a federal grand jury sitting in Elkins on Tuesday, according to a news release from the office of the U.S. Attorney Northern District of W.Va.

Among those named was Rodolfo Villagomez Correa, 32 of Buckhannon.

Correa was named in a six-count indictment.

Counts one and three charge Correa with false statement to acquire a firearm on January 19, 2011 and June 26, 2011, in Lewis County. Count two charges Correa with receipt of a firearm by an alien illegally in the U.S. on February 21, 2011, in Upshur County. Count four charges Correa with possession of fraudulent identity document by alien illegally in the U.S. on February 6, 2012 in Upshur County. Count five charges Correa with possession of firearms by an alien illegally in the U.S. on July 24, 2012 in Upshur County and count six charges Correa with possession of fraudulent permanent resident card on July 24, 2012 in Upshur County, officials said.

Officials said the indictment also contains a forfeiture allegation wherein the U.S. seeks to forfeit 16 firearms which were seized from Correa.

Correa faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each of the six counts.

This cases was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner and was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations (ICE/HSI).
