WA: Neighbors raise stink over sewage from illegals

This does happen a lot but it doesn't usually make the news.
Got this email today.

The homeowners say they put in the pipe to keep sewage from backing up into their home from a failing sceptic tank. SEATAC, Wash. - King County Health inspectors are planning to look into complaints about a sewage pipe that's discharging water into a drainage ditch.

A viewer notified KING 5 of an illegal sewage pipe coming from a neighbor's home.

The pipe can be clearly seen discharging fluid into the ditch between the two homes.

The owners of that home, who speak little English, told KING 5 they put in the pipe to bypass a failing septic system that was backing up into their home.

But discharging raw sewage is illegal and poses a serious bacterial threat to people living near the trench which ultimately drains into Des Moines Creek.

A spokesman for the family tells KING 5 the family now understands the situation and is looking for financing for an expensive septic tank replacement.

Health inspectors were scheduled to inspect the pipe Friday night.

If anyone of us had done that, we'd be looking at jail time. The pandering that goes on to these people is breath taking in it's scope.

I haven't seen any mention of the either the country of origin of these people nor their status (maybe it was reported elsewhere...?)


Anyway, regardless of the above, it definitely demonstrates a lack of ability to successfully assimilate. We have enough problems trying to keep our salmon populations from year to year around here and putting raw sewage directly into the surface water doesn't help in any way...

You would be absolutely amazed at the problems we have at the manufactured home development I manage w/illegals and sanitation.

We frequently have problems with something similar to what was described in the article. If they develop a problem with their plumbing the way they solve it is to disconnect the line that runs from their home into the septic tanks which, of course, allows the wastewater and raw sewage to just drain out all over the place on the ground. We've even had a few, who didn't have plumbing problems, disconnect the lines anyway because, they said, it didn't seem "normal", and one guy's wife was even convinced that the sewer line hooked up to the house was some plot to make them all sick, or worse, by pumping the sewer gas into their home!!!! 8O

I could write a book on some of the stuff I've seen and heard out of these people.....it just leaves you in total bewilderment that people living in today's world can be so ignorant. 8O

Sounds like areas of our country may become like Tijuana. It's a known fact their sewage problem is so bad it contaminates our beaches.

My son lives in San Clemente. When he goes surfing, he says sometimes the water smells so bad that it gives him the dry heaves.
It's a environmental nightmare what the Mexican people do to pollute our beaches.

I was in Ensenada (Baja) about 10 years ago. It smelled so bad there I had to stay in the car or I'd throw up.

It is usually the responsibility of the Health Department to cite the owners of the property and then move for a condemnation if it is not brought up to code within a specified time.

It's gross!!!!!!!! I would be very, very upset.

This is bull s--t if you or I did this we would be fined or jailed, this has to end.

The person that sent me the email was telling everyone to contact ICE about them, so I'm sure the ICE office will be contacted.

Does anyone know of a case where a "legal" American did the same thing? If so, we need to see what happened to that person. These people sound like they are getting off with special treatment since they "don't speak the language."

To think I hate dog poop in my yard. This is just disgusting.

That's roughly the last time I was in Mexico as well, but I went to TJ. Strangely enough I didn't have any problems (legal or illegal) on that trip.

I wonder what TJ and Ensenada are like now?

I did a quick search and found numerous cases very similar to this. Most of the cases involved broken lines that were not timely repaired rather than a deliberate act of re-channeling the waste. Some cases were brought under criminal statutes. Others were filed as violation of health laws and under the clean water act. Several were brought under the public nuisance statute.

The cases are generally approached from a public health issue rather than the criminal behavior of the property owner, although I did find some where the defendant was convicted of a misdemeanor. It is impossible to tell from case law whether this case was handled differently at the early stages of the discovery. That could probably be learned only by comparing the usual and customary procedure in place in the county where it occurred. Interesting case.

I still remember when I went to college in L.A. from 1993 to 1997 that the beaches were closed all the time for sewage spills. One time when I went in the water, my skin started to burn, so I got right out. I can count the number of times I swam in the California ocean on one hand due to this. No swimming in sewage for me!

I lived in Mexicali for a few years (120 miles east of TJ) and there were several ditches which were nothing more than open sewers. There were also several taco stands nearby. I could never understand how those stands had any business. I'd have thrown up after eating there.
Also, in the same town there was a stream thru it with skull and crossbones signs along the creek. No swimming signs too. Yuck.
One of the most polluted rivers in the US originates in this area and crosses the border into the US and dumps into the Salton Sea. Disgusting.

Seems like plumbing to the 3rd world invaders is an open trench.

Yeah they live in Sea Tac because it is an oft forgotten municipality with service industry as its primary economy. There are also many illegal alien safehouses there.

Where are all the environmental groups? If a company was doing this they would go after them right away. Now I know a company would be on a larger scale, but sewage from 30 people?

It still amazes me that 99% of "environmentalists" could care less about the damage being done to our environment, air, water, etc. by illegals.
