AVON — An illegal immigrant wanted in connection with a July 28 robbery was arrested Saturday, Avon Police said.

Felipe Pacheco-Jimenez, of Mexico, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery, second-degree assault, criminal possession of a forged instrument and criminal impersonation, all felonies, said Avon Police Detective Paul Arnold.

Felipe Pacheco-Jimenez and his brother, Bacilio Pacheco-Jimenez, also of Mexico, fought Vicente Perez-Landeros, of Honduras, in the parking lot outside Agave restaurant in Avon on Saturday and left when police arrived, Arnold said.

The Pacheco-Jimenezes beat Perez-Landeros and stole his jacket and cell phone when the men met along the bike path behind the Liftview Condominiums around midnight, Arnold said.

Perez-Landeros was treated at Vail Valley Medical Center for a 3- or 4-inch gash below his eye, Arnold said.

Two days later, Perez-Landeros saw Bacilio Pacheco-Jimenez outside the Eagle Valley Temps employment agency and called police, who arrested Bacilio Pacheco-Jimenez, Arnold said.

That day, Felipe Pacheco-Jimenez and Bacilio Pacheco-Jimenez’s wife and daughter moved from one Sunridge Condominiums home in Avon to another one in a different Sunridge building.
