Watery Death Zone for Illegal Immigrants: All American Canal

Watery Death Zone for Illegal Immigrants: All American Canal

Agencies issue warnings about swimming in canal

YUMA, Ariz. - The United States is taking action to make the All American Canal less deadly to illegal immigrants who attempt to use the waterway as a path to America.

The canal, which runs west of Yuma and through the Imperial Valley, has been a watery death zone for hundreds of illegal immigrants including children.

Federal, state and local agencies representing water resources and international boundary organizations have formed the Canal Safety Awareness Consortium.

The interagency effort focuses on educating and warning the public about the dangers of swimming in the canal.

Plans call for 130 buoys throughout the canal system and 1,400 signs in English and Spanish placed along the canal, warning people not to enter the waterway.

My friend in Florida says they have more alligators than they know what to do with.
Could we store some of them in the canal, you know, just to help out Florida.

In South Fla. we are surrounded by canals and NO Buoy's in any of them. Yes people do drown here too but that is the chance you take if you donot take precautions around water.

This scheme on the American Canal is just to make it easier for IA's to get to the USA. Next they will be demanding bridges so they don't get wet.

Is there anything we can do to make it more deadly? Then we don't have to support them for the rest of their lives. I think some depth charges would be effective. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time or in this case don't swim the canal unless you are tired of living.

Water cannons are not deadly force and only should be used as a deterrent every 20ft.
