WH IMMIGRATION PRINCIPALS CALL FOR ENDING CHAIN MIGRATION & MANDATORY E-VERIFY

WH Immigration Principles Call for Ending Chain Migration & Mandatory E-Verify

    Published:
    Sun, Oct 8th 2017 @ 7:20 pm EDT

President Trump this evening released his much-awaited immigration policy "principles" that include an end to chain migration and a requirement for all businesses to use E-Verify to end the hiring of illegal workers.

The administration says it is "ready to work with Congress to achieve three immigration policy objectives to ensure safe and lawful admissions; defend the safety and security of our country; and protect American workers and taxpayers."

The White House will likely demand that many of the principles be passed before or in conjunction with any relief Congress provides to young illegal aliens who have received the DACA executive amnesty.

NumbersUSA President Roy Beck released this statement to the news media:

Based on our earlier internal surveys, the Trump Administration's release of immigration policy priorities is certain to reassure and even thrill most of the 8 million members of the NumbersUSA online network who expect that policy to put American workers and communities first. That was the promise that Pres. Trump made in his campaign, and it is exciting to see the promise re-stated in so much detail.

"Most politicians who have been commenting lately on immigration policy have failed to show the compassion and support that the Trump Administration is offering the women and men of America who want a decent shot at a decent job without having to compete with millions of new foreign workers being added to compete with them.

"We would note that among the Administration's many important and much-needed changes in policy, two stand out and perhaps would provide more benefit than all the rest combined: (1) ending the chain migration categories giving lifetime work permits for extended family of immigrants, and (2)mandating E-Verify to stop outlaw employers from choosing illegal workers over Americans and legal immigrants already here for construction, manufacturing, hospitality and other occupations.

The principles were released in a document that included the following details and which was titled:

    Trump Administration Immigration Policy Priorities
    .
    BORDER SECURITY

Build a southern border wall and close legal loopholes that enable illegal immigration and swell the court backlog.

    · Fund and complete construction of the southern border wall.
    · Authorize the Department of Homeland Security to raise and collect fees from visa services and border-crossings
    · Fund border security and enforcement activities.
    · Ensure the safe and expeditious return of Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) and family units.
    · End abuse of our asylum system by tightening standards, imposing penalties for fraud, and ensuring detention while claims are verified.
    · Remove illegal border crossers quickly by hiring an additional 370 Immigration Judges and 1,000 ICE attorneys.
    · Discourage illegal re-entry by enhancing penalties and expanding categories of inadmissibility.
    · Improve expedited removal.
    · Increase northern border security.

    INTERIORENFORCEMENT

Enforce our immigration laws and return visa overstays.

    · Protect innocent people in sanctuary cities.
    · Authorize and incentivize States and localities to help enforce Federal immigration laws.
    · Strengthen law enforcement by hiring 10,000more ICE officers and 300 Federal prosecutors.
    · End visa overstays by establishing reforms to ensure their swift removal.
    · Stop catch-and-release by correcting judicial actions that prevent ICE from keeping dangerous aliens in custody pending removal and expanding the criteria for expedited removal.
    · Prevent gang members from receiving immigration benefits.
    · Protect U.S. workers by requiring E-Verify and strengthening laws to stop employment discrimination against U.S. workers.
    · Improve visa security by expanding State Department’s authority to combat visa fraud, ensuring funding of the Visa Security Program, and expanding it to high-risk posts.

    MERIT-BASEDIMMIGRATION SYSTEM

Establish reforms that protect American workers and promote financial success.

    · End extended-family chain migration by limiting family-based green cards to include spouses and minor children.
    · Establish a points-based system for green cards to protect U.S. workers and taxpayers.

Boot them all out...the whole family...if they came through Mexico...they can go right back through Mexico and on down the line right back to their home country.

If they came through Mexico from Central America...let MEXICO pay to send them back!

Mexico is making money giving them the 20 day passes to get to the USA

CUT OFF ALL FOREIGN AID TO MEXICO UNTIL THEY ARE ALL DEPORTED!

Thank you NumbersUSA. However, I think you should amend your statement to add a 3rd item in your last paragraph addressing ENFORCEMENT. It doesn't matter what law or changes to policy are made if our government is without the resources in terms of ICE agents, Prosecutors, Immigration Judges, and Border Security to enforce the laws and policies.

    Just my opinion.

Without changes "illegal immigration and chain migration, which severely and unfairly burden American workers and taxpayers, will continue without end."

My "immigration" google alert is overflowing this morning with media coverage of the Trump Administration's just-released "immigration priorities."

    Politico:

"In a letter to Congress, Trump said these policy priorities 'must be included as part of any legislation addressing' DACA because without the changes, 'illegal immigration and chain migration, which severely and unfairly burden American workers and taxpayers, will continue without end.'"

    Emphasis mine.

No one in the establishment media or in Congressional leadership denies that this is true -- yet the establishment of both parties say they oppose the proposed changes; essentially admitting that they want "illegal immigration and chain migration, which severely and unfairly burden American workers and taxpayers" to "continue without end."

Please comment on the news stories and discuss them on social media. Help others understand the state of play:

The current Chain-based immigration system results in a reverse-Robin-Hood redistribution of $500 billion every year from Americans who work with their hands and on their feet to the investor class that lives off of dividends and the cheap labor of immigrant workers.

Because E-Verify is optional, employers can illegally hire foreign workers not authorized for employment to fill jobs that - by law - should go to legal permanent residents or U.S. citizens.

Post and share these insights into the politics of immigration:

Kevin Drum of Mother Jones says:

"Anyone who claims to be fiercely opposed to illegal immigration but doesn't support strong employer sanctions is just lying to you."

Michael D. Shear and Yamiche Alcindor of the New York Times:

"...Democrats need to be mindful not just of white working-class voters but all voters, said Cornell Belcher, who worked as one of President Barack Obama's pollsters during his 2008 presidential campaign. Democrats have to 'thread a fine needle,'he said, because polls show that voters broadly 'feel as though their borders need to be more secure.'"

Michael Brendan Dougherty of National Review:

"Someday people will look back on this time of mass immigration into America, from the 1970s to now, and wonder how it was that the language of humanitarianism was so easily and cheaply deployed to subordinate the very concepts of political community, democratic checks, and even the rule of law itself to the demands of employers....The truth is that American policymakers valued low-wage labor more than they valued any of our professed political values."

    Peter Beinart of The Atlantic:

"The next Democratic presidential candidate should say again and again that because Americans are one people, who must abide by one law, his or her goal is to reduce America's undocumented population to zero. For liberals, the easy part of fulfilling that pledge is supporting a path to citizenship for the undocumented who have put down roots in the United States. The hard part, which Hillary Clinton largely ignored in her 2016 presidential run, is backing tough immigration enforcement so that path to citizenship doesn't become a magnet that entices more immigrants to enter the U.S. illegally."

    Pete Spiliakos of First Things:

"Whatever the answer is, we need to ask some questions. Should we use our immigration system to make our population of least-skilled workers larger, or smaller? And should we indulge American employers who want to avoid hiring from among our most distressed workers?"

    Elevate the debate.

White House lays out DACA amnesty deal

. . . all issues the White House says need to be part of any bill Congress passes to legalize illegal immigrant “Dreamers” currently protected by the Obama-era deportation amnesty known as DACA . . .
