    What’s wrong with the media

    What’s wrong with the media
    By RHarrison | 15 February 2008 | Blogs | 42 Comments

Across the country, newspapers are losing readers by the bus load. Just this week, both the LA Times: http://www.bizjournals.com/losangeles/s ... a=from_rss and NY Times: http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/02/15/business/nyt.php announced major lay-offs designed to stop their financial loses. The Internet, 24 hour TV news stations, and public indifference to news are often blamed for the loss of readers, but I don’t think that’s the whole story.

Yesterday, the Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 03559.html ran a front-page story with the headline “Obama’s Economic Plan is a Pitch to the Working Poor.â€

    Gotta love it

The MSM, drive-bys, dinosaur media…whatever descriptive term one wishes to use, is on a mission to shape public opinion rather than reporting the news. Allmost invaribly, the drive-bys will shape the news around their liberal mindset and inject a bit of socialism (big government, tax and spend for the collectivist good) whenever they see the opportunity. Fortunately, an educated, well rounded chap who peels back layers of propaganda when looking at an issue can see this. It’s the “news byteâ€

The LA Slimes is so prone to Hispandering and "know your Mexico" that anyone can quickly see their editors and staff are biased. Almost every issue they print is some new angle examining the health or discomfort of the Latino community. In cumulative numbers there are thousands and thousands of articles touting that specific ethnic population. Although there are story lines about other ethnics in the Times, there is hardly ever an article about the white inhabitants and their health and discomfort with regard to immigration or about white displacement in Los Angeles.

The paper has formally revamped its news scope to emphasize the LA region but include some national/federal/state stories such as the war and elections. It is a thin sad, sad campus-style paper anymore and many people have cancelled their subscriptions.

This is what the LA Slimes should be reporting on:
