White receives endorsement of group fighting illegal immigration

Republican congressional candidate Woody White has received the endorsement of Americans for Legal Immigration, or ALIPAC, a group that fights against illegal immigration and any form of amnesty for those living in the country illegally.

White, a Wilmington attorney and chairman of the New Hanover County Commissioners, is one of three GOP candidates in the 7th Congressional District, which includes large parts of southeastern North Carolina. Former state Sen. David Rouzer of Johnston County and Fayetteville resident Chris Andrade also will be on the ballot for the Republican primary in May. Democratic U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre isn't running for re-election in the district.

“I am pleased to have the support of Americans for Legal Immigration,” White said in a news release. “We share a common purpose on the issue of illegal immigration – no amnesty, and no taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal immigrants like drivers licenses, healthcare or in-state college tuition.”
