A group of Senate conservatives vowed to “use all procedural means necessary” to fight back against President Obama’s use of executive action to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants.
Despite yesterday’s electoral losses, Obama is reportedly moving forward with an immigration plan before the end of the year. In a letter today to outgoing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., the six senators expressed their concern over Obama’s vow to take executive action.
According to the letter, such action would “lawlessly grant amnesty to immigrants who have entered the country illegally.”
“This will create a constitutional crisis that demands action by Congress to restore the separation of powers,” wrote Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas; Mike Crapo, R-Idaho; Mike Lee, R-Utah; Pat Roberts, R-Kan.; Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.; and David Vitter, R-La.

“But if anybody wants to know where my heart is or whether I want to have this fight, let me put those questions to rest right now. I am not going to give up this fight until it gets done. … I want to make something clear: Fixing our broken immigration system is one more, big thing that we have to do and that we will do.”
The Washington Post went on to write that the president “laid blame squarely at the feet of congressional Republicans” for failing to pass immigration reform.
In their letter to Reid, the lawmakers threatened to use Senate rules to take action against Obama.

    Dear Leader Reid:
We write to express our alarm with President Obama’s announced intention to take unilateral executive action by the end of this year to lawlessly grant amnesty to immigrants who have entered the country illegally. The Supreme Court has recognized that “over no conceivable subject is the power of Congress more complete” than its power over immigration. Therefore, President Obama will be exercising powers properly belonging to Congress if he makes good on his threat. This will create a constitutional crisis that demands action by Congress to restore the separation of powers.
As majority leader of the Senate, you have the responsibility of not only representing the citizens of your State, but also of protecting the Constitution through vigilant exercise of the checks and balances provided under the Constitution. Therefore, we write to offer our full assistance in ensuring expeditious Senate debate and passage for a measure that preserves the power of Congress by blocking any action the President may take to violate the Constitution and unilaterally grant amnesty; however, should you decline to defend the Senate and the Constitution from executive overreach, the undersigned Senators will use all procedural means necessary to return the Senate’s focus during the lame duck session to resolving the constitutional crisis created by President Obama’s lawless amnesty.
    Sincerely,

    Constitutional crisis

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A constitutional crisis is a situation that the legal system's constitution or other basic principles of operation appear unable to resolve; it often results in a breakdown in the orderly operation of government. Often, generally speaking, a constitutional crisis is a situation in which separate factions within a government disagree about the extent to which each of these factions hold sovereignty. Most commonly, constitutional crises involve some degree of conflict between different branches of government (e.g., executive, legislature, and/or judiciary), or between different levels of government in a federal system (e.g., state and federal governments).
A constitutional crisis may occur because one or more parties to the dispute willfully chooses to violate a provision of a constitution or an unwritten constitutional convention, or it may occur when the disputants disagree over the interpretation of such a provision or convention. If the dispute arises because some aspect of the constitution is ambiguous or unclear, the ultimate resolution of the crisis often establishes a precedent for the future. For instance, the United States constitution is silent on the question of whether states are allowed to secede from the Union; however, after the secession of several states was forcibly prevented in the American Civil War, it has become generally accepted that states cannot leave the Union.
A constitutional crisis is distinct from a rebellion, which is defined as when factions outside of a government challenge that government's sovereignty, as in a coup or revolution led by the military or civilian protesters.
A constitutional crisis can lead to government paralysis, collapse, or civil war.

pay attention.... this could escalate really, really quick and grow out of control. Amnesty or the government trying to take away the 2nd Amendment are some of the top things that could throw this country into chaos

Six Republican senators have sent Harry Reid a blistering letter, urging him to block any executive action that would amount to immigration amnesty.
The letter, co-written by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), says that executive action on immigration would be illegal.
“President Obama will be exercising powers properly belonging to Congress if he makes good on his threat,” the letter said.
The letter warns that lawmakers will use all procedural means necessary to resolve the constitutional crisis that the president would create.
“We have got to make sure that Congress speaks on this issue,” Sessions told Megyn Kelly tonight.
“The American people have pleaded with Congress and presidents for 30 years. They’ve asked, pleaded, and demanded really a lawful system of immigration that serves the national interests. President Obama is decimating law enforcement, Megyn, in a host of ways. This is just one of them,” he said.
    Watch more above.

IMO we need a moratorium on immigration, while we formulate a policy which serves Americans best interests. Real wages are stagnent, work force participation is down, and even our STEM graduates can't find jobs. Basta ya. (Enough already.)
