Sept. 12, 2013 – ICE launches smartphone app to locate predators, rescue children from sexual abuse and exploitation
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is launching a new smartphone app – the first of its kind in U.S. federal law enforcement – designed to seek the public's help with fugitive and unknown suspect child predators. All tips can be reported anonymously through the app, by phone or online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Full Story
Sept. 13, 2013 – Michigan man profiled in HSI's Operation Predator app arrested
Less than 36 hours HSI rolled out a new Operation Predator smartphone app to solicit information from the public about wanted child predators, a Michigan man profiled in the app was arrested. Full Story
Sept. 13, 2013 – Mexican felon wanted for murder in Mexico indicted in Oklahoma for re-entering the US after being deported
A Mexican man, who is a convicted felon and is wanted in Mexico for murder, was indicted Sept. 10 in the Eastern District of Oklahoma for illegally re-entering the United States after being previously deported. ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers were notified Aug. 22 by the Mexico's Attorneys General Office that Gutierrez-Carranza was wanted for an aggravated homicide in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Sept. 10, 2013 – HSI works with Philippine law enforcement to capture cybersex operators and rescue child victims
HSI special agents in Manila worked in close cooperation with the Philippine Department of Justice (DOJ)'s Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) to successfully bust a cybersex syndicate based in Cebu, Philippines; seven suspects were arrested and more than a dozen child victims rescued in four operations between May and September. Border Patrol Arrests a Felon Gang Member in California

Calexico, Calif. - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico station apprehended a dangerous gang member attempting to make an illegal entry into the United States today. Border Patrol agents observed a 35-year-old Mexican national, later identified as Jose De Jesus Salazar-Gomez, as he entered the United States illegally from Mexico at approximately 2 a. Nogales CBP Officers Seize $93K in Coke

Nogales, Ariz. - A pair of Mexican nationals were arrested yesterday at the Port of Nogales for attempting to smuggle more than 10 pounds of cocaine into the United States.U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred a 42-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico for additional inspection of his Dodge truck when they attempted to enter the United States. CBP Officers Seize Nearly $111K in Marijuana

Douglas, Ariz. - A local resident was arrested Wednesday for attempting to smuggle more than 221 pounds of marijuana through the Port of Douglas. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred the 34-year-old Douglas man for further inspection of his Mercury van. (more)
Task Force Seizes Dope, Stolen Vehicle

Tucson, Ariz. - Joint enforcement operations, focusing on transnational criminal organizations operating in the west desert, resulted in the seizure of 1,372 pounds of marijuana and a stolen 2005 Chevy Tahoe near Cocklebur, Ariz. Early this morning, West Desert Task Force (WDTF) members were alerted by detection technology to possible smuggling activity. (more)
Nogales CBP Nab Wanted Felon

Nogales, Ariz. - A 28-year-old Mexican national is in custody in connection with identity theft charges in Pima County. The man was arrested as he attempted to enter the United States through the Port of Nogales on Thursday.Customs and Border Protection officers referred Yair Aguillon-Guevara, of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, for further inspection when he attempted to enter through the Dennis DeConcini Port.
