PHOENIX (AP/CBS5) -

Six men have been rescued after walking ten days in the Arizona desert.

The men were located Monday morning near Interstate 8 in Gila Bend, about 30 miles southwest of Phoenix, and turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol, according to Maricopa County sheriff's deputies.

MCSO said the men "were in relatively good condition complaining only of extreme hunger and thirst."

The names, ages and nationalities of the six men weren't immediately available.

The men apparently entered the U.S. illegally and were abandoned by their guide, said MCSO spokesman Deputy Joaquin Enriquez.

Enriquez said the men were out of water and relying on cactus water to survive.
