March, counterprotest draw smaller crowds

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Notes from today's immigration march and counterprotest in downtown Yakima.



5:40 p.m. -- Marchers took off from Miller Park about 5:20 p.m., after hearing from rally organizers.

Nearly 600 people were marching, according to a Herald-Republic head count.

Later on Third Street, police Capt. Rod Light said there were 600 people tops.
