7:15 a.m. -- 7 arrested at underage drinking party involving gang members in Caldwell

Caldwell police broke up an underage drinking party "involving gang members" at a vacant house in the 900 block of Settlers Avenue in Caldwell just before midnight Saturday, said Sgt. Baltazar Garza.
Four officers responded to a call reporting the house full of partiers, then requested backup.

Eight Caldwell police officers and three Canyon County deputies, plus the initial four officers rounded up 15 party attendees; seven were arrested -- three were under 21 years of age, four were under 18.

One female juvenile jumped from a second-story window, trying to get away from police. She was taken to West Valley Medical Center for an ankle injury then to the Juvenile Detention Center for minor consumption and probation violation.

Cynthia Serrano, 20, was charged with minor consumption, violating a no contact order and an Ada County arrest warrant. Alejandro Almeida, 18, was charged with minor consumption and a Canyon County arrest warrant. Jessica Banda, no age released at this time, was arrested for minor consumption. Four juveniles were arrested for minor consumption and released to their parents.
