I've often wondered how they work out the language barrier.

Back in 1969 I spent a year in a Japanese elementary school, where no English was spoken. I participated in courses like art and sports. Since I didn't know Japanese, I quietly drew pictures during the other classes. I was just one person and did not bother the class. Academically, I learned nothing that year. My parents knew we would only be there for a year, not permanently. As an American, I was treated like a celebrity and made many friends. They thought the US was the greatest place on earth and everything was bigger and better. They were right. Japan was not a 3rd world country.

How do the US schools accommodate 3rd world non-English speakers that are behind academically, without detrimentally effecting the rest of the class?

No one should be placed in our schools until they can read, write, and speak English at their own expense. Then be put in the proper grade level.

Illegal aliens should not be placed in our schools, period. They should be deported with their illegal alien parents.

The costs for translators alone with the numbers coming illegally will be unbearable. The dumbing down of requirements in education will hurt American children.

We have seen disrespect for the American flag, our anthem, patriotic colors, culture, etc. Our American ways are often criticized and marginalized by the children and their parents.

These are socialist sending countries ridding themselves of the unwanted, knowing they will benefit in ways through remittances.

Illegal aliens are not coming here to be Americans. While there are those seeking a better life, even by criminal activity, the lack of assimilation leaves them generally separated. Our nation keeps growing more Balkanized.

Remittances in the billions of dollars leave America and go to build other nations and to fill other people’s pockets. We already give the corrupt countries millions from our government.
