Rep. Steve King, the next Chairman of the House Immigration Subcommittee, now has the floor.

Rep. Lamar Smith, the next Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, now has the floor.

The rule to debate the DREAM Act squeaked through, and now there is one hour of debate on the amnesty. Currently, John Conyers of Michigan is speaking for the Democrats.

We understand that the Senate will not hold any more votes this evening. While this is a sign that Sen. Reid doesn't believe he has near enough votes to force this amnesty through the Senate, it does give him an extra day to get more votes (by any means at his disposal).

Currently, the House is debating the rule which would allow the DREAM Act to be voted on. If this rule passes, it DOES NOT mean that the DREAM Act passes -- it simply means that there will be a further 1 hour of debate on the amnesty, then the amnesty will be voted on.

I hope you're enjoying C-SPAN's coverage (or, not hating it, at least). Roy will be back on air very soon.

Rep. Lamar Smith, the Chairman-elect of the House Judiciary Committee is now speaking about DREAM. We expect him to be a powerful ally in the next Congress. Please stay tuned, we'll be back shortly.

Well, just to contradict myself, DREAM has now passed the Rules Committee and the full House will vote on the rule around 6:15. Assuming that passes, the House will vote on DREAM at around 8:30. At least, that's the plan as of now. Expect it to change 15 minutes from now.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
