Most U.S. voters are unaware that the number of legal immigrants outnumber those who come to the United States illegally.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 60% of Likely U.S. Voters think the number of illegal immigrants coming to the United States annually outnumber legal immigrants. Only 20% correctly recognize that legal immigrants are the larger number, while 19% aren’t sure.

The survey of 954 Likely Voters was conducted on June 2-3, 2015 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

That is pathetic and I hope unacceptable. If aliens and immigration was not such a hot issue it may not mean much, but with all the information so available and the controversy ongoing those numbers are difficult to believe, but I do not doubt them. But it does not suggest informed voters are available, does it?

This is interesting, but IMO, essentially meaningless.

IMO the issue is whether we should be permitting any immigration at all.

Labor force participation by Americans is below its historic level, wages are stagnant, and even our STEM graduates can't get STEM jobs. So why would be want any immigration at all?
