Poll: AZ businesses largely unconcerned about immigration issues

The latest quarterly poll of small businesses in Arizona finds that issues related to illegal immigration do not register as a large concern for them.

The poll, called the O'Neil Associates/Arizona Small Business Association Economic Indicators Monitor, found that a majority of Arizona small businesses - 56 percent - think securing the border is "not very important" to their businesses, while only 10 percent rate border security as "critical."

Additionally, the poll showed that the Employer Sanctions Law is having "little impact" on Arizona's small businesses. 75 percent of respondents reported no change in how they do business because of the law. 13 percent reported a negative impact from the law, while 12 percent said the law had a positive effect.

3,000 small businesses in Arizona were polled, and the margin of error is 6 percent.

It would have been interesting to see what kind of businesses are in the 13% reporting negative impact.

I know for damned sure, the commerical real estate business is taking a huge hit and people like my boss are losing their rear ends.

Many, like my boss, were riding that real estate bubble, snapping up apartment complexes and mobile home parks and maintaining a tenant base comprised of a majority of illegal alien tenants. In addition to that. many. again like my boss. were taking full advantage of the lax lending standards. I know that my boss was borrowing against ALL of his properties (I've been able to find 12) to the tune of $1 million PER property every year.

Yep. It all worked out just fine for them. They had money pouring in. were wallowing in their greed and "wealth", didn't have to worry about shelling out money for upkeep as their new tenants turned their properties into Third World slums they wouldn't dream of living in themselves, and had people, packed in like sardines, not actually living but merely existing for the sole purpose of ensuring that they and their families were living the high life.

And now it's catching up to them and it's catching up to them big time.
