Quitting Bush - Take Poll At End of Gallery

    Quitting Bush

Several Republican officials have distanced themselves from the policies of George W. Bush, who recent polls show as America's most unpopular president in more than a half century.

The main issues: Bush's war on Iraq, now in its fifth year, as US casualties mount and the price tag nears $500 billion; and Bush's support for his attorney general, Alberto Gonzales, who appears to have contradicted himself on his knowledge of politically motivated firings of US attorneys. However, many GOP lawmakers are still with him.
What do you think? Take our poll at the end of the gallery.

Do you think impeachment proceedings should begin against Bush?
Yes. He has been the most disastrous president in modern US history, and we should stop the damage.

No. Impeachment would further divide the country. It's not that long until Jan. 20, 2009.

No. He has done what he could to stop terrorism -- and has not committed high crimes and misdemeanors.
