Washington, May 17 -

Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) today reacted with extreme disappointment at the deal brokered by a bipartisan group of senators that allows illegal immigrants a path to amnesty and the right to vote.

"Either you stand on principle or you stand for nothing. To me, these senators are playing politics with the sovereignty of the United States. It is completely arrogant and irresponsible to use the security of the American people and the sovereignty of the United States as a bargaining chip to get a workable immigration plan," said Blackburn. "If the phones ringing off the hook in my office are any indication, there are a lot of angry people out there -- and I don't blame them.

"They have the right to be angry. This issue has gone unresolved for years. The citizens of this country deserve to have their voices heard and opinions respected. I am pleas
ed they love America enough to be upset with the Senate.

"In the spirit of the ultimate 'smoke-filled room deal', they have assured us that at least 12 million illegal aliens currently here are on the path to amnesty, the right to vote, and the right to in-state college tuition, just to name a few.

"This fight isn't over -- not by a long shot. This is their opening volley." (quote)

We need to let those who support us know that we support them and that we are against any AMNESTY provided for in the Senate Bill. We could also email her to voice opposition to the Bill.

The message should be ENFORCE THE LAW.
