Poll: what do you think about the role of ordinary citizens?

    December 7th, 2007 · Post a Comment · posted by ataxin
For those of you who didn’t hear, NPR interviewers asked a provocative question of Democratic presidential candidates during a debate in Iowa this week:
What should be the role of the average U.S. citizen in immigration enforcement?
Answers varied, with most candidates saying the ordinary citizen doesn’t know enough about U.S. immigration laws to determine who is eligible to stay here and who isn’t. The candidates (you can listen to them here) also stressed the need for doctors to treat people regardless of immigration status and clergy to be able to counsel whoever is in need.
Social service professionals aside, The Issue wants to know where you think the average citizen should draw the line on participation in enforcement.

As NPR asked of the Democratic presidential candidates, should average U.S. citizens play a role in immigration enforcement?

    • Yes -- the average citizen should be encouraged to report alleged immigration violations 8

    • No -- the average citizen doesn't know enough about immigration law to report alleged violations 0

    • Maybe -- each individual should decide for himself or herself whether to report alleged violations to authorities 0

What's there to know....you either came the correct way and have papers or you came illegally and have no papers....

    Well, now the score is

    17...

    00...

    00...

I find it somewhat difficult to believe, these morons would even consider asking anything but, should Americans do their part to report or curtail Illegal Immigrants.

It seems the real question that should have been asked, is if, American Government Representatives should be prosecuted for not enforcing current, standing Immigration law violations and abuse. Just a thought ...
