[Watch] Ted Cruz Has Had Enough Stonewalling, Gives FBI Director an Ear Full

Posted on 21 May, 2014 by Rick Wells

On Wednesday Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) interviewed FBI Director Comey in hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee and expressing his shared outrage with the American people over the lack of progress in an investigation which has been underway for 372 days and counting.
Cruz asks Director Comey to remember his confirmation process, a year earlier, and Cruz’s questions as to the veracity of their then-new investigation, its status as a “very high priority” for the FBI, as well as Comey’s promise to aggressively and personally work the case.
Senator Cruz characterizes the events since the revelation of the scandal as a “persistent stonewalling from the administration.”
In regards to a question about stonewalling, which Cruz worded as to ask the number of interviews which have been conducted, the response from the director came in the form of more stonewalling. Comey provided the tired and valueless “can’t discuss an ongoing investigation” reply.

Cruz does not completely hide his frustration with the pace of the investigation, the partisan leadership of the investigation, and the lack of cooperation from those involved in the investigation.
Chairman Leahy also feels compelled to jump into the discussion and defend the witness’ empty response as being appropriate.
If that response is appropriate, it begs the question, what are these “good gentlemen” doing sitting around, wasting their time and our money?
