One question is solved and another will likely be resolved within the next one to three days.
The highly radioactive material reported missing has now all been recovered. There now seems to be little danger to anyone other than the unfortunate thief who removed the protective container. That person is likely to be in grave danger of dying within days.
The missing shipment of cobalt-60 which found abandoned in a rural area about a kilometer from Hueypoxtla, Mexico, an agricultural town of approximately 4,000 people. There was no public threat posed and no need for evacuations, according to Juan Eibenschutz, director of the National Commission of Nuclear Safety and Safeguards.

The material was being transported to a waste site after use in medical equipment for radiation therapy at the time of the theft.
No word of anyone reporting to a hospital for radiation poisoning had been received to this point.
