4 groups that are warming up to Donald Trump

(CNN)The big headline from CNN's new national poll was this: Donald Trump is at his highest approval rating in nearly a year.
Yes, as Trump critics note, 42% approval isn't exactly great. And as the one and only Harry Enten points out, Trump's approval rating gains look less impressive when viewed over the broader sweep of his time in office.
That said, Trump was at 35% approval in a February CNN poll and at 42% in a March CNN survey. That's a gain worth exploring. Which I did.

Here are four subgroups among which Trump performed significantly better in March than he did in February:

Men. Trump was at 50% approval in March as compared to 42% approval in February.

Young voters. In February, just 1 in 5 voters aged 18-34 approved of how Trump was handling the job. In March, that number increased to 30%

Middle-aged voters. Trump's gains among the young(ish) were one-upped by his showing among those between 35 and 49 years old, where he gained 9 points in approval in a month.

College graduates: A group that has long been resistant to Trump had the biggest change of heart toward him between February and March: A 10-point swing.

The Point: Trump's gains among young voters and college graduates are intriguing -- even if they need to be leavened with the fact that they represent a snapshot in time. Looking for an explanation? The tax cut, most likely.

It's the tax cut, it's the pipelines, it's ANWAR, it's the individual mandate repeal, it's trade, it's Syria, it's ISIS, it's North Korea, it's lack of collusion with the Russians, it's tariffs on China, it's bringing our industries home, it's NATO paying their fair share, it's selling our weapons to allies so they can defend themselves, it's deregulation, it's moving the Embassy to Jerusalem, it's the spending bill with more money for our military, and it's his fight to reduce legal immigration, end chain migration, eliminate the visa lottery, and trying to get the funding for the wall and more enforcement to end illegal immigration, it's deporting MS-13. It's everything he's doing. He's actually at 50% in Rasmussen's daily tracking poll today, higher than Obama at the same time during his administration.

Some yes, some maybe, and some no.

People who are against Trump aren't in the approval number to begin with.

My point is, you can still be an overall supporter but still not support everything he has done or is trying to do. Example, I seriously doubt approval of the pipeline and ANWAR brought him any new supporters.

My point in response to the article, is it's not just about tax cuts, it's about everything of the many many things this President has done to Make America Great Again! And really, now that he's removed some of those contrarians from the White House, he's going to do so much more great stuff for our country, I won't have time or ability to list it all in a post.
