Magnitude 6.6 quake strikes Costa Rica, USGS reports

The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude-6.6 earthquake has struck the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. There are no immediate reports of damage.

The quake occurred in the Guanacaste region of the Central American nation, 38 miles from the town of Liberia. It had a depth of near 12 miles.
