CBP Officers, Border Patrol Agents Recover Stolen Pickup during Outbound Enforcement Operation; 1 U.S. Citizen Arrested

Brownsville, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and Border Patrol agents working outbound enforcement operations at the Veterans’ International Bridge, southbound lanes, recovered a stolen pickup and arrested one U.S. citizen.

On April 7, at 10:30 p.m., CBP officers and Border Patrol agents working outbound enforcement operations at the Veterans’ International Bridge came in contact with a silver southbound 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 as it attempted to exit the United States to enter Mexico. After a routine examination, the vehicle and driver were referred to secondary for an intensive examination. As CBP officers along with Border Patrol agents attempted to interview the male driver, he unsuccessfully attempted to run from officers and agents.

The driver, identified as 22-year-old Rafael Fuentes, a U.S. citizen and resident of Brownsville, Texas was arrested and placed in a holding cell. After an intensified examination of the Dodge Ram, it was determined to be a stolen truck from the Brownsville area.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agents investigated this failed smuggling attempt. The Dodge Ram was seized by CBP officers and Border Patrol agents working the case and turned over to the Brownsville Police Department. The driver will face state auto theft charges.

Not much of one considering all the extra resources that have been diverted to the border, while reducing interior enforcement, to catch gun smugglers.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.

Apples and Oranges ? , I want our border secure . more boots on the ground on the southern border is somewhat of a bonus . Don't ya think ?
Of course we want it all , secure border and interior enforcement .
This administration wants only amnesty , thats no secret .
We can only kick their butts as the try the bits and pieces of things like the dream act ect .
In the mean time , I wont complain about more resources being put on the border enforcing All Laws down there , up there and all ports of entry .
When they try to pass the big Amnesty we will Jam it down their ignorant arrogant throats .
As I said before our interior enforcement at this time and with this Democratic Administration is only going to be met by Local County and State Agencies .
287G and E-verify needs to be put on every states ballot .
The feds are going to sit on their hands until they have exhausted all avenues toward amnesty , Its just a Fact .
Be grateful for what ever we get concerning Illegal Aliens , Obama promised comprehensive Immigration reform / amnesty , the halt in raids or interior enforcement is his way of payment for votes . Hmm pay for play ?
