Judy, you are so out of it. Haven't you seen all the left-wing governors, mayors and the rest of the politicians, giving convicts the right to vote? And of course we accommodate prisoner's rights to pray and follow their religious beliefs behind bars. And we accommodate their diets.

Prison isn't the stigma it used to be. Why a politician running in West Virginia claimed his stint in prison as a badge of honor.

I hadn't heard of any state giving prisoners the right to vote. I've heard of states restoring felons right to vote once they're released. I support prisoners and felons having the right to vote, but I'm not aware of any state that still allows prisoners to vote, they used to allow them to vote in federal elections but then the states all got together and stopped that. While I support their right to vote, I don't support their right to wear caps, scarves or belts while they're in prison.

So does that mean you also support the criminal convicts right to vote while under parole?

Absolutely!! I oppose any and all government action that takes your right to vote away. I understand why it's hard to allow prisoners to vote in local elections, because of district residency issues, but in federal elections and Governor and statewide officials, they should be able to vote without question, same for those on parole, in half way houses, probation and full releases. No one should lose their right to vote at least in federal and statewide elections because the government locked you up. Otherwise, the government will target certain groups and lock them up so they can't vote, and that is discrimination to manipulate elections. We don't want that, or least we shouldn't want that.

Wow! Talk about paranoia. So criminals can vote to make crime legal. And you're okay with that. I guess you are for illegal aliens voting too. After all, they have a stake is what government does, especially to them. Sanctuary cities, they'd vote "Yes!" Open borders? They'd vote "Yes!" Citizenship for all who are withing our borders? "Yes!" Why have laws? They violate our Constitutional right to liberty.

You're right, those in prison would most certainly vote to weaken our criminal justice system if left to their own accord. However, there is also the chance that wardens and/or prison guards could physically force them to vote their way or sway their votes with the offer of more freedoms and benefits to make their prison stay more tolerable. Remember, the prisoners are captives and every waking minute of their day is controlled by someone else.

As for those on parole, they have yet to pay society back for their past criminal deed(s) and don't deserve to have their voting rights restored until they're straight with the criminal justice system.

I'm on the fence about former felons having their voting rights restored. Depending on their crime, maybe some of them should have their voting right restored, but that shouldn't include murderers, rapist and child abusers.

Why would I be for illegal aliens voting because I support prisoner and felon voting?! No illegal aliens can not vote, should not vote, should not even be in prison, they should be deported.

As to citizens in prison or felons, of course they should vote. They might be innocent, the law might be wrong, of course you have the right to vote on all issues and most certainly those that impact you.
