Probe ACORN at every level

Local, state and federal investigations of activist group all merit

The recent undercover videos showing ACORN workers from National City to New York City offering helpful and disturbingly specific advice to a fake pimp and prostitute haven't just led the Senate and House to cut off the controversial activist group's access to millions of dollars in federal funding.

In San Diego County, Supervisors Pam Slater-Price and Bill Horn today will ask top county officials to audit the 26,000 voter registration forms turned in last year by the local chapter of ACORN, which stands for Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

In Sacramento, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger wants Attorney General Jerry Brown to “launch a full investigation into ACORN's activities in California.â€

In Washington, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Vista, wants House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Ed Towns, D-N.Y., to reverse his decision to block a full probe of ACORN.
