Appeals court upholds voter ID law
January 4, 2007 INDIANAPOLIS - The 7th U-S Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago has ruled that Indiana's law requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls is not too burdensome.

Judges ruled two-to-one to uphold Indiana's law.
The ruling questioned arguments that Indiana's voter identification rule is unfair to poor, elderly, minority and disabled voters, saying opponents have failed to find anyone unable to cast a ballot under the new law.

The Republican-controlled Legislature approved the law in 2005, saying it would help prevent voter fraud. The Indiana Democratic Party and the A-C-L-U contend the law unfairly affects people who may struggle to obtain a photo ID.

Judge Terence T. Evans dissented, saying Indiana's law is a -- quote -- "not-too-thinly-veiled attempt to discourage election-day turnout by certain folks believed to skew Democratic.

Is this what I think it is? The american people for once won out over the illegals and their paramours the ACLU?
