Armed Detroit Woman Fights Off Carjackers

A Detroit woman was able to fight off armed carjackers on Tuesday thanks to the concealed firearms she keeps in her car.
“When I see him with the gun as he approached me to take the car, I lifted my gun up on the door and I began to shoot,” the woman, identified only as C.C., told Detroit’s Local 4. “So when he shot I was shooting back.”

The carjackers fled the scene once C.C. returned fire at them. She was unscathed in the attack.

In the aftermath of the attack, C.C. encouraged other residents of Detroit to arm themselves. “All the residents of the city need to come together and take back this city from the thugs and the criminals that have taken over this city, and if you live in fear, you’ll never bring this city back,” she told the news station.

She was particularly upset about the idea that it isn’t safe to get gas at night in the city.

“You should be able to go anytime to get gas,” she told Local 4. “This is the land of the free and the home of the brave, right? Why can’t we act like it?”
